Heading: One Stone, Two Birds: Navigating the PSLE Journey Together
“Welcome! I’m a parent of three— like you I’m currently walking the path toward the PSLE.
I realized that we often face two major challenges:
The “Reading Gap”: It’s hard to get our children to read the news consistently, even though “General Knowledge” is a game-changer for the English Oral and Composition components.
The “Oral Hurdle”: Knowing how to tackle Stimulus-Based Conversation (SBC) using structured methods like PEEL can be the difference between a good grade and a great one.
Why I created this Substack: I wanted to create a resource that “kills two birds with one stone.” Every post here is a “Daily News Read” paired with a relevant PSLE-style picture.
By spending just 10 minutes a day on this Substack, your child will:
Stone 1: Practice reading aloud with curated news excerpts from The Straits Times and student magazines.
Stone 2: Build a “library” of high-scoring idioms and real-world knowledge to use during their Oral exams.
Let’s turn the PSLE from a source of stress into a journey of discovery. I’m sharing what I’ve learned and the resources I use for my own children so that we can all see our kids head into their new life chapters with confidence.
Join our community of parents today—every little bit of practice counts!”
